Glycosides of anthocyanidins are the bioflavonoid compounds responsible for the colored pigmentation of various fruits, vegetables, grains and flowers. These compounds are most widely known for their antioxidant properties and are remarkable for their capacities as anti-inflammatory and cancer therapeutics.

 

Consequently, their nutraceutical and dietary supplement value is enormous. Unfortunately, commercial use of anthocyanidins has been severely limited because classical methods for their enrichment/purification require days and weeks for their isolation, and are uneconomical for commercial production. To address these limitations, 3P developed a proprietary “platform” technology for a simple, rapid, cost-effective, and scalable method to produce bulk quantities of anthocyanidins, enabling these colored pigments to be safely utilized in functional foods, beverages, cosmetics, and dietary supplements, as well as potent therapeutics. A proprietary mixture of anthocyanidins, ANTHOS™, is being evaluated for therapeutic and adjuvant treatment of primary and metastatic breast cancer, as well as colon polyps and invasive colon cancer.
